It’s that time of year again when we’re all doing our holiday shopping.  If you have little ones on your list, you’re probably trying to figure out the best kids toys to buy this year for gifts.

If you have a baby on your list, the best toys are activity toys.  Starting very early, babies are ready to explore and start learning.  Interactive toys such as plastic stacking toys or toys that make noise when moved or played with will be the best toys for babies.

The best toys for preschoolers are toys that help them learn.  Consider card games or laptop computers for young children.  Not only do they come with an array of programs that will help your child learn everything from their A-B-C’s to counting, to simple math, and more.  In our opinion, this is the absolute best toy for preschoolers.

School Age kids just want to have fun and burn off extra energy when they get home from school.  Great toys for this age are bicycles, scooters, and any other outdoor toys.  In the winter months, consider snow toys such as sleds or give the kids a bucket and let them build a snow fort.  The most important thing is to get this age outdoors and playing.

Unfortunately often kids this age are in after school programs since mom and dad work. This is usually good for academics but not very good for exercise as these programs are often underfunded and heavily utilized.  Make getting outdoors and active family fun time.  You’ll find that not only will the kids be ready to go but the family will also look forward to some fun time together.  Buy the whole family a gift such as a ball to play kickball or a football.  Both the kids and parents will thank you for this family time.
