The Best Fun Outdoor Activities for your Toddler
Do you know that there are so many outdoor activities which would thrill your kids given the chance for you to do them together? So many outdoor toys and activities could prove really fun and would provide a great learning experience for your tiny toddlers.
Toddlers are ever curious about everything that you would not find it hard to bring them out of the house into the yard for some activity. At time, they might even be the one who would be dragging you out of the house. Knowing your child’s interest and temperaments would guide you accordingly on the types of activities that both of you would engage in. If your child loves nature, you could introduce activities that involve animals, insects, or plants.
You could have your child water some plants on a sunny afternoon. Take this time to acquaint your child with the different parts of the plants. Point out the leaves, flowers, roots, and stems. You could also tell her that the plants drink the water, just like her who needs to drink water to stay healthy.
Digging for treasure is another way to excite your kid and develop his curiosity and sense of goal achievement. You can hide a small golden painted rock in the sandbox, and have your child use an old kitchen colander in digging out the treasure. Your child would be ecstatic once she gets to find the treasure herself.
If you have flowering plants in your garden, you could have fun together in picking out a favorite flower. You could give one to her, and she could give one to you. The flowers you picked together could be placed in a vase or in your bedroom. Make her see how happy you were when you received the flower from her. Soon enough she’ll be plucking the flowers all by herself.
One element that thrills all children of all ages is water. It is one of the activities that you could do together that would have her shrieking in delight. What you need is just a bubble-solution. You could either buy this from the store or you could make it yourself. Then, you stand at the center of your lawn and start blowing bubbles in all directions. This would surely give your toddler the time of her life.
Oftentimes your child must have been very eager to hold the hose and water your car just like what she has seen daddy doing. Take this time to actually let your child do the carwash. Not on your car of course, but on her riding toys. Let her hold the hose and provide a bucket of water with soap where she could dip the sponge and start scrubbing and cleaning. She will be mighty proud of her accomplishment!
These are just but a few of the myriads of outdoor activities that you and your child could do together. You could paint some rocks, or draw on the sand, or anything you could think of which would give your child a fun day with you.
